Director of the Institute of Seismology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan V. Ismailov and Deputy Director for Scientific Work I. Alimukhamedov took part in the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the event, the latest scientific achievements in the field of seismic research in the region, earthquake monitoring and hazard and risk assessment were discussed. An agreement was also reached on the exchange of experience between the two institutes, the development of scientific cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
This visit will further strengthen scientific cooperation between seismologists from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan and will be one of the important steps towards reducing seismic hazards and ensuring seismic safety in Central Asia.
